With the release of StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3, I assume that Blizzard had its hands full on these two major projects. Not to mention WoW. So will we ever get to see a Warcraft 4? If so, when?
As expected from Blizzard, the game will be awesome if it ever is made. And IceFrog will probably create a DotA map for WC4 as well. The transition of heroes and items from WC3 to WC4 can be done relatively easily, but the problem is with strategies. It will completely change, and it'll be almost like playing a new game. Does it mean the end of WC3?
I'm guessing it'll become something like the Quake series. Even after Quake 4's release, people still play more of multiplayer Quake 3. WC3 will retain its charm for AGES to come. With millions of people already into DotA, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't shift to WC4 overnight. The cycle starts all over again. Let's just hope that IceFrog is still there for us when WC4 comes out.

why would icefrog make dota in WC4 if it comes, wtf he doesn't own dota rights i mean he is doing a god job now, but mb some new kid is going to make dota in wc4 if it ever comes. & how do you know that implementation is going to be easy.

Hey einstein he dosen't have the rights but he has the files and the prestige. The dota maps are encrypted. You can't open them with the war3 map editor. Do you think people will follow a random kid. No way they'll follow icefrog. Thers no doubt.
About war4 we don't even now if it will come out some day. I hope it will.
Blizzard's rpg games are cheap in graphics so it'll be safe to assume that applies to WC4.
And WC3 has its charm because of the custom maps. So I'll bet that they'll use the same but enhanced version of the same map editor and engine.

Icefrog made an assumption of 5 million dota players worldwide from the download numbers of the map at his second Q&A on his blog.
Hey Zorj, you can hack DotA map you just need time coz what you can play on wc3, & if it is protected from WE opening, can be hacked and opened in WE. And I'm playing DotA-Alstar when i can, I don't have ambition to develop DotA map coz i don't have time for minor things like siting all nights as Mr.IceFrog
said on his blog and debugging stuff although I have the knowledge, so don't worry about me. I wasn't aiming that somebody else take DotA development, I just say that somebody else can do it if WC4 ever comes or if it is going to be possible on SC2,
because i think that if Blizzard is going to make something like WE in their new RTS style games that it must be betrher coded than it is WE. WE was god for its time, but they have money & they'll make something improved that wont need files from present WE. Than IceFrog files wont be necessary. So who first Implements Story in new RTS, was it IceFrog or someone else, & if he does god job ill play it & i think you are going to play it,or say if this is not IceFrog i won't play it.

I dont know about dota in warcraft 4 even though the project has been set.There might not be a world editor for warcraft 4. Which will not allow icefrog to make a custom maps like dota for wc4.
there is always a map editor in blizzards rts games, thats the reason that they are populare
I for one would prefer a DotA free warcraft 4, perhaps something more exciting and less tedious (also something that doesn't attract people that freak our over the tiniest detail)
It's interesting to see just how permeant memory has become in our every day lives. It seems like everytime I turn my head, I see something with a card slot or USB jack, lol. I guess it makes sense though, considering how inexpensive memory has become as of late...
